It was exactly 19 years ago that we first opened our doors in Forest Hill with second-hand shelves and a till on the front desk. That’s almost two decades of selecting the best and most unique items for you across a wide range of departments including womenswear, menswear, kids & baby, gifts and homeware.
It all began in 2003 when our founder Ayshin felt compelled to introduce a fresh and chic womenswear offer to the area. To this day, we live by that same vision: the desire to stand out from the crowd by bringing you only what we consider outstanding and unforgettable. The name Bunka means culture in Japanese - a nod to Ayshin’s fascination with Japanese art and design.
Your love and enthusiasm for our Forest Hill shop led us to expand shortly after we first opened, and we soon launched our second branch in Beckenham. Last year, in order to meet the ever growing interest in our brand and products, we opened a third store at The Glades Shopping Center in Bromley. In each one of our boutiques you will find a carefully curated offer that you can rely on no matter the occasion or who you’re shopping for.
Our South London customers love to browse our shops and they enjoy receiving the guidance of our staff, but thanks to our online store and nationwide shipping, all of our wonderful products are at your fingertips wherever you may be in the UK.
